Graphic Communications is one of the largest and most diverse industries in the United States with printing, publishing, and packaging as major divisions. Few industries can offer such a wide variety of career opportunities for boys and girls of all interests, talents and educational levels. Students in Graphic Communications transform the designs of the commercial artist and the manuscript of the technical writer into printed material. This material is prepared for printing production through the use of computerized color imaging systems, scanners, digital cameras and a variety of printing presses. Binding and finishing machines convert the printing into books, posters and catalogs. Computers are used by the student to plan and manage the entire printing project.
